The title was going to be "Holy crap, a deviation!" but you guys will have already said that by now anyway XD
Anyways, this was done way back in the day (read: april) and was the only CG pic I did especially for Anime Boston. It was also my first major stab at cell shading with GIMP.
My reaction?
CG cell shading can die!
It may have been just cuz my inking was sucky and all over the place, but this pic was a PAIN to CG. i had to do any given edge about six times before i got it right, and i could never quite figure out where the shadows should be. The lighting in the pic is soooooo off, it's not even funny X_x The actual pic wasn't really that hot either, so that doesn't mark up the points any.
I suppose it has some redeeming qualities, though. The white shiney is pretty cool, and the hair turned out nifty. And the wings are only cool cuz I gave up and airbrushed the shading xD Still, I don't think i'm gonna use cell shading for any serious pics for a looong time.
AIRBRUSH POWAH!!
Random note: This picture is perfectly square. 820 pixels by 820 pixels. Nifty, eh?
(you see that camo on his shirt? i colored that entirely by hand, can you tell? xD)
XD "Look Mouse is goth...It's Dark Mousy!" XD, I love the hair *pets it*

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
