Man, too late for St. Patrick's Day D: (Says the girl who hasn't updated her gallery in over a year.)

So this is the pic I drew for darksilicon's birthday... LAST YEAR. (OH GOD DS I'M SO SORRY T_T) The reason it's got a St. Patrick's theme is because I based it on a little sketch I drew on St. Patty's last year that I still thought was adorable when her birthday rolled around. I still think the pic turned out awful cute ^_^

The reason I haven't posted it until now (besides my usual criminal negligence of this account >_> ), as well as the reason it's only in flatcolors, is because shortly after her birthday I had the bright idea to try out some new coloring techniques on it. So, after months and months of horrible serial coloring murder I couldn't bear to look at this thing anymore T_T

I've finally wised up and decided to just go ahead an post the flats I was using rather than making any misguided attempts at further fiddling, because it's still a cute pic even without proper colors and god knows I've made DS wait long enough ;_;

To talk about the pic itself for a minute, this was insanely fun to draw Especially the hair. DS occasionally made Al and Raz's hair look kind of... similar (no offense!), so for fun I decided to try and make their hair look as different as possible without straying too far outside their character designs. So Raz has flowy silky hair and Al's is short and messy ^_^ Also, Raz was originally standing beside Al, until I realized how short Raz really is compared to him, so I freaked out for a minute until I realized that Raz can LEVITATE. So now that's what he's doing apparently. (Sorry about how off-model the wings are, DS -- I didn't have any reference for them. Hopefully they're still cute!) Also also, I'm amazed I actually drew both sets of hands here and didn't cop out like usual. They don't even look to bad~

In conclusion, experimenting on your friend's birthday present is a horrible idea and you should never do it. (I'm really sorry ;_; )

(and the winner for lamest made-up-on-the-spot book title of all time isssss me. also wth, al's ponytail looks like a pigtail. how did i not notice that while i was drawing it)
